Self-Assembled Single-Site Nanozyme for Tumor-Specific Amplified Cascade Enzymatic Therapy

Dongdong Wang et al.

Summary: This study presents a new strategy utilizing nanozymes with single-site cascade enzymatic reactions for tumor-specific therapy, demonstrating the ability to selectively kill tumor cells while avoiding harm to normal cells. Through tumor-specific glutathione oxidase activity, the nanozymes were able to amplify the production of highly toxic hydroxyl radicals for tumor cell apoptosis, showing potential for effective tumor growth suppression in vivo.

Nanozymes Inspired by Natural Enzymes

Ruofei Zhang et al.

Summary: Nanozymes, nanomaterials with enzyme-like activities, have attracted significant attention in recent years as potential substitutes and competitors for natural enzymes. The key focus in this field is on creating nanozymes with catalytic performance comparable to or surpassing that of natural enzymes. By employing a bioinspired strategy, researchers have successfully synthesized high-activity nanozymes that show similar catalytic activities to natural enzymes, establishing a new hot topic in nanozyme research.
