Key Factors Affecting the Stability of CsPbI3 Perovskite Quantum Dot Solar Cells: A Comprehensive Review

Seyeong Lim et al.

Summary: The power conversion efficiency of CsPbI3 perovskite quantum dot solar cells has increased from 10.77% to 16.2% within a short period due to advancements in material and device design. However, the device stability of these solar cells remains poor in ambient conditions. This review discusses the degradation mechanisms of CsPbI3 perovskite quantum dot solar cells and introduces strategies to improve their stability.

Urbach Energy and Open-Circuit Voltage Deficit for Mixed Anion-Cation Perovskite Solar Cells

Biwas Subedi et al.

Summary: The Urbach energy is a commonly used indicator of the electronic quality of thin-film materials in solar cells, and is influenced by the anion-cation composition. The correlation between the Urbach energy and the open-circuit voltage deficit of the perovskite thin film shows a direct relationship. However, some perovskite films show a lower Urbach energy but a higher open-circuit voltage deficit due to issues related to material quality and film processing techniques.

Summary: All-inorganic CsPbIBr2 perovskite solar cells have attracted worldwide interest due to their excellent thermal stability. This study investigates the passivation effect and band alignment of a rubidium acetate interface layer at the electron transport layer/perovskite and perovskite/hole transport layer interfaces. The introduction of rubidium acetate improves the film quality and electron extraction at the electron transport layer/perovskite interface, and passivates grain boundary defects and reduces nonradiative recombination at the perovskite/hole transport layer interface. The modified solar cells achieve a champion efficiency of 12.11%.

Stabilizing Mixed Halide Lead Perovskites against Photoinduced Phase Segregation by A-Site Cation Alloying

Pronoy Nandi et al.

Summary: The research demonstrates that substituting methylammonium (MA(+)) ions into mixed halide perovskites can suppress photoinduced phase segregation, with significant suppression observed at 10% substitution. The activation energy for photoinduced phase segregation is increased by introducing 10% MA(+) into the perovskite, indicating an increased energetic barrier for halide segregation. The study also shows the effect of A-site cation alloying against photoinduced phase segregation in active devices such as phototransistors and photovoltaic cells.
