Enhanced Photocatalytic and Photokilling Activities of Cu-Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles

Yumatorn Mingmongkol et al.

Summary: In this study, metal-doped titanium dioxide was synthesized to improve photocatalytic degradation and antimicrobial activities. The copper-doped TiO2 nanoparticles showed well-maintained anatase phase and a decreased band gap. The 0.1 wt.% Cu-doped TiO2 exhibited enhanced photocatalytic degradation and antibacterial ability, while the high Cu doping levels had negative impacts on surface charge and charge transfer.

Green synthesis of Mn-doped TiO2 nanoparticles and investigating the influence of dopant concentration on the photocatalytic activity

Salman Latif et al.

Summary: In this study, a tea plant extract was used to synthesize different concentrations of MnxTi1-xO2 in the presence of titanium and manganese sources. The photocatalytic activity of the synthesized samples was tested using the degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) under visible light. The results showed that the sample with a dopant concentration of 0.05% exhibited the highest degradation ratio.

Low temperature denitrification and mercury removal of Mn/TiO2-based catalysts: A review of activities, mechanisms, and deactivation

Jiancheng Yang et al.

Summary: Mn-Ce/TiO2 catalysts have attracted much attention in the research of low temperature NH3-SCR catalyst for denitrification and mercury removal due to their good catalytic activity. The introduction of Ce effectively solves the problems of poor N-2 selectivity and toxic deactivation. This review summarizes the recent research on MnOx/TiO2 catalysts modified by Ce and analyzes the effects of transition metal modification.

Novel Strategy for the Development of Antibacterial TiO2 Thin Film onto Polymer Substrate at Room Temperature

Patcharaporn Phuinthiang et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel method for depositing antibacterial TiO2 thin films on polymer substrates at room temperature, showing high efficiency in killing bacteria. The thin film consists of titanium, oxygen, and carbon, with an optical band gap of 3.35 eV. The photodegradation of bacteria under UV-A radiation was highly effective, leading to >97% bacterial death within 60 minutes of irradiation.
