Summary: This study investigates the effects of beta-caryophyllene (BCP) on the modulation of biomarkers in the brain cortex before bilateral common carotid artery occlusion followed by reperfusion (BCCAO/R). The results show that BCP treatment can alleviate early events of cerebral inflammation triggered by BCCAO/R through the regulation of TRPV1 and the BDNF-trkB system.

Endocannabinoids in Bladder Sensory Mechanisms in Health and Diseases

Endocannabinoids primarily act on bladder sensory neurons to regulate sensory bladder function. Future studies are needed to understand the effects of selective cannabinoid receptor agonists on bladder sensory neurons in animal models of bladder diseases.
