3D highly porous microspherical morphology of NiO nanoparticles for supercapacitor application

Summary: In this study, the effect of reaction temperature and urea concentration on the electrochemical performance of NiO nanoparticles is investigated through the synthesis of NiO nanosheets using a hydrothermal method. The structural and morphological characterizations of the synthesized nanoparticles are analyzed and the electrochemical performance of the developed electrodes is evaluated. The binder-free electrode prepared using these NiO nanosheets displays excellent specific capacity and cyclic stability, demonstrating promising potential for energy storage applications.

NiS2 nanospheres coated by nitrogen-doped carbon for enhanced sodium storage performance

Summary: Carbon layer-coated and N-doped NiS2 nanospheres were synthesized through PVP-assisted hydrothermal and subsequent annealing processes, which reduced volume expansion, improved electrical conductivity and Na+ storage activity, and increased ion diffusion kinetics during electrochemical charge-discharge. NiS2@NC showed excellent specific capacity (554.3 mAh g-1 at 0.2 A g-1, first-cycle coulombic efficiency of 92.3%) and excellent long-cycle stability (436.3 mAh g-1 at 1 A g-1 for 800 cycles) when evaluated as a negative electrode for Sodium-ion batteries, demonstrating its potential as an ideal anode material for SIBs.

Systematic Design of a Graphene Ink Formulation for Aerosol Jet Printing

In this study, a systematic approach to formulating a polymer-stabilized graphene ink is reported, considering the effect of solvent composition on dispersion, rheology, wetting, drying, and phase separation. The ink formulation achieved efficient ink atomization, controlled in-line drying, and high resolution and electrical conductivity, demonstrating its viability for fabricating functional electronic devices.

Photoresponse Analysis of All-Inkjet-Printed Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube Thin-Film Transistors for Flexible Light-Insensitive Transparent Circuit Applications

Summary: We present a study on robust, transparent, and flexible thin-film transistors made of single-walled carbon nanotubes using an all-inkjet printing method. Our findings reveal that these thin-film transistors exhibit different photoresponses based on the power levels of incident light, distinguishing them from previous reports that classified them as photodetectors. Furthermore, these transistors show stability under daily illumination conditions, making them suitable for light-insensitive transparent and flexible electronic applications.

Inkjet Printing of MnO2 Nanoflowers on Surface-Modified A4 Paper for Flexible All-Solid-State Microsupercapacitors

Summary: This study demonstrates the utilization of inkjet printing method to fabricate flexible micro-supercapacitors (MSCs) based on manganese dioxide (MnO2) on surface-modified A4 paper substrate. The appropriate rheology of the ethanol-based ink and the proper dimensions of MnO2 nanoflowers ensure a reliable inkjet printing process. The resulting MSCs show high areal capacitance, durability, foldability, and superior areal energy density and power density.

A rational design of highly active and coke-resistant anode for methanol-fueled solid oxide fuel cells with Sn doped Ni-Ce0.8Sm0.2O2_?

Summary: A Sn-doped Ce0.8Sm0.2O2_delta (SDC) supported Sn-Ni alloy anode was designed and prepared through a dual-modification strategy. The substitution of Sn improved the mobility of lattice oxygen in SDC, and Sn exsolves from the oxide phase to form intermetallic compounds with Ni after reduction. The composite anode showed unprecedented activity in the electrochemical oxidation of H2 and CH3OH, with high power densities achieved using these fuels. This work opens a new path for the design of high-performance SOFC anodes.

Classification of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

Summary: This review summarizes various types of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and describes their structural features, advantages, and disadvantages. Among the well-studied dual-chamber SOFC, those with anode-supported design and oxygen-ion conducting electrolyte are found to be the most suitable for operation at temperatures below 800 degrees C. Other promising types for low-temperature operation include SOFC with proton-conducting electrolyte and electrolyte-free fuel cells, although further research and development are needed for commercialization.

Summary: The formation of nanocrystalline Co3O4 by chemical precipitation was studied in this research. The obtained semiproduct was validated through simultaneous thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray powder diffraction analysis. The thermal decomposition process of the semiproduct and the formation of the target oxide were investigated. The research showed the possibility of using the developed technology for the manufacturing of electrode structures Co3O4 for planar type supercapacitors.

The microstructure, crystal structure, functional groups, thermal behavior, and electronic state of the resulting coating were studied using various characterization techniques. The surface topography, local electrophysical properties, and electrical conductivity of the composite coating were also analyzed.

Highly flexible solid oxide fuel cells using phase-controlled electrolyte support

Summary: This study reports a phase-controlled, bendable, ultra-thin 3YSZ electrolyte with high flexural strength and improved ohmic resistance. The highest cell performance among reported flexible SOFCs is achieved using conventional electrodes, with a maximum power density of 0.86 W cm(-2) at 900 degrees C. This study provides a framework for developing flexible SOFCs as next-generation power sources for mobile devices with high volumetric power.
