To overcome these limitations, researchers have developed a microneedle-based drug delivery system for psoriasis treatment. This review provides information on the pathophysiology, risk factors, comorbidities, treatment approaches, and the potential of microneedles in psoriasis therapy and diagnosis.

Summary: Inhibiting ROR gamma t can effectively improve skin, joint, and gut inflammation in a preclinical PsA model, with reduction in clinical scores, weight loss, bone density, and surface erosions. ROR gamma t blockade also decreases IL-17 immune responses in PsA-affected tissues. Thus, targeting ROR gamma t may be a potential therapeutic approach for PsA.

Paradoxical phenomena of bullous pemphigoid induced and treated by identical biologics

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the clinical features of biologics-induced bullous pemphigoid (BP) and the therapeutic effects of those agents for BP, exploring the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms. The study found that biologics can both induce and treat BP, which might be associated with a helper T cells Th1/Th2 imbalance, complicated inflammatory networks, and a specific individual microenvironment. This finding provides a new perspective and alternative therapeutic options for BP.

Renal impairment and abnormal liver function tests in pre-therapeutic phenotype-based DPD deficiency screening using uracilemia: a comprehensive population-based study in 1138 patients

Summary: This study aimed to describe the rate of hyperuracilemia (>16 ng/mL) and investigate the influence of hepatic and renal impairment on uracilemia measurements. The results showed a steady decrease in hyperuracilemia rates over the 3 years. Elevated levels of AST and ALP, and reduced eGFR were linearly associated with higher uracil concentrations. Second uracilemia measurements altered the initial DPD deficiency diagnosis in almost 25% of the patients.

While the induction of S100-alarmins is associated with increased expression of specific cytokines, the deletion of S100A9 in mice reduces the inflammatory phenotype. However, the expression of S100A8 and S100A9 does not significantly affect the maturation or inflammatory response of keratinocytes, indicating their role in the inflammatory response of keratinocytes during psoriasis.
