Pesticide residues on children's hands, home indoor surfaces, and drinking water among conventional and organic farmers in Thailand

Pakasinee Klaimala et al.

Summary: This study investigated the presence of pesticides in Thai households, with a particular focus on children's exposure. The results showed that various pesticides were found on children's hands, home surfaces, and drinking water, with some chemicals exceeding the health guidelines. This highlights the need for further research and attention to the potential risks of pesticide exposure for children.

Selective solid-phase extraction of atrazine from agricultural environmental water samples using high permeability nanoporous carbon derived from melamine-based polybenzoxazine followed by HPLC-UV

Anna Prukjareonchook et al.

Summary: For the first time, a highly permeable nanoporous carbon derived from melamine-based polybenzoxazine was applied as a solid-phase extraction sorbent for the trace analysis of atrazine herbicide in environmental water samples. The optimized extraction conditions showed good linearity in the concentration range of 5.00 to 30.0 µg/L, with low limits of detection and quantification. The reusable nature of the sorbent material was also demonstrated, making it a cost-effective option for herbicide enrichment. The developed method was successfully applied to analyze atrazine in various water samples, showing promising potential for efficient adsorption of herbicides.

Simultaneous determination of 114 pesticides in complex Chinese herbal medicine Fritillaria using ordered mesoporous carbon CMK-3 as a reversed-dispersive solid phase extraction sorbent

Tong Wu et al.

Summary: The study introduces a new method for simultaneous detection of multiple pesticide residues in different Fritillaria species, which successfully addresses this challenge by optimizing the QuEChERS method combined with LC-MS/MS analysis. The results show that the method is capable of accurately analyzing multiple pesticide residues in various Fritillaria species.
