Summary: A simple, rapid, sensitive and selective alkanol-based supramolecular solvent-assisted dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (SSA-DLLME) method was developed for the extraction and determination of acrylamide (AA) in various food samples. The method showed effective extraction of AA at short vortex time and acidic pHs. The linear range, LOD and LOQ of the method were determined. Factorial design was used to understand the factors affecting extraction recovery of AA. The optimized SSA-DLLME method was successfully applied to process food samples for the determination of AA.

Spectrophotometric determination of traces allura red in environmental samples after a deep eutectic solvent-based microextraction

The effects of various factors on recovery were investigated, and the accuracy of the method was confirmed through analysis of real samples.

Micelle mediated selective extraction of lead after its complexation with thionine in aqueous samples prior to FAAS determination

Summary: A micelle mediated phase separation and preconcentration process was developed for the determination of trace level Pb (II) ions in water samples using flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) after chelation with thionine. The selectivity of the method was validated in the presence of five different possible chelatable metal ions with thionine ligand. The parameters of the method, including pH, surfactant concentration, ligand concentration, reaction temperature, incubation time and matrix ions, were optimized. The method showed good reliability with a relative standard deviation (RSD %) of less than 5% and had a detection limit (LOD) and quantitation limit (LOQ) of 1.5 and 5 μg/L, respectively.

Summary: A column solid-phase extraction method was developed for the preconcentration and determination of AR, BB and SY based on adsorption onto Dowex Optipore V493 adsorbent. The method showed low detection limits, linear dynamic ranges and satisfactory quantitative recovery results for real samples. Furthermore, the recommended procedure was successfully applied to foodstuff samples for the determination of AR, BB and SY contents.
