Modern physical methods for the molecular design of single-molecule magnets

Valentin V. Novikov et al.

Summary: This review focuses on physical methods for understanding single-molecule magnets, including magnetometry, electron paramagnetic and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. These methods are traditionally used for determining the composition and structure of new chemical compounds, but are rarely applied to study molecular magnetism.
