Developing core competencies for clinical nurse educators: An e-Delphi-study

Jing Ye et al.

Summary: This study conducted research on the core competencies for clinical nurse educators in China, using focus group interviews and the e-Delphi method. It resulted in a set of core competencies for clinical nurse educators, which can provide valuable information for the selection, training, and evaluation of clinical nurse educators.

The mental health impact of aortic dissection

Nicole Ilonzo et al.

Summary: Research on the impact of aortic dissection (AD) on mental health, both short-term and long-term, is lacking despite studies on surgical techniques and medical therapies. AD as a medical trauma has complex implications for identity and warrants further exploration. This topic has been identified as an area of interest for future research.

Quality of life following surgical repair of acute type A aortic dissection: a systematic review

Aditya Eranki et al.

Summary: Surgery for acute Stanford Type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) has a negative impact on the health related quality of life (HR-QOL) of patients, particularly in terms of physical health. The HR-QOL outcomes after surgery are worse compared to an age matched general population. Older patients have lower physical component scores, while emotional health may fare better than younger patients.

Elevated cardiac troponin I and short-term mortality in patients with acute type A aortic dissection

Shuai Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the association between elevated cardiac troponin I (cTnI) levels and 30-day mortality in patients with acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD). The results showed that elevated cTnI levels were common in ATAAD patients and were associated with an increased risk of 30-day mortality.

Post-operative uric acid: a predictor for 30-days mortality of acute type A aortic dissection repair

Shulun Ma et al.

Summary: This study found that pre- and post-operative hyperuricemia may be associated with worsened outcomes in patients undergoing surgery for acute type A aortic dissection (AAAD). The post-operative day 1 (POD1) serum uric acid (UA) level has a predictive role in 30-day mortality in AAAD repair patients.

Aortic remodeling, distal stent-graft induced new entry and endoleak following frozen elephant trunk: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Pooria Nakhaei et al.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive evaluation of complications related to FET surgery in patients with type A aortic dissection and/or aortic aneurysm. The results show that FET surgery produces excellent outcomes with low incidence of distal stent-graft induced new entry and endoleaks, as well as favorable aortic remodeling. However, the heterogeneity observed in this study emphasizes the need for multicenter studies comparing different FET grafts.

Factors Related to Hospitalisation-Associated Disability in Patients after Surgery for Acute Type A Aortic Dissection: A Retrospective Study

Kotaro Hirakawa et al.

Summary: This study evaluated factors related to hospitalisation-associated disability (HAD) in patients after surgery for acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD). The results showed that age, noninvasive positive pressure ventilation, postoperative delirium, and timing of walking onset were associated with HAD. A late walking onset was associated with a higher risk of developing HAD and more severe functional decline. Early rehabilitation based on appropriate criteria has the possibility of preventing HAD.
