Kinematic and dynamic analysis of a 3-DOF parallel mechanism

Summary: This paper presents a three Degrees of Freedom (DOFs) parallel manipulator with no rotational capacity, using planar kinematic pairs and specific parallelogram joints. The special parallel structure requires three active sliding joints for driving. The mobility characteristics are detailed and possible singularity configurations are discussed using screw theory. The Lagrangian formulation is employed to compute the mathematical model of the inverse dynamic problem.
