Data-Model Combined Driven Digital Twin of Life-Cycle Rolling Bearing

Yi Qin et al.

Summary: This article proposes a digital twin model of life-cycle rolling bearing driven by the combination of data and model. By using measured signals and the bearing fault dynamic model, the size and evolution law of bearing defects can be estimated. These information is then introduced into the bearing dynamic model in virtual space, and finally the data in virtual space is mapped to the corresponding data in physical space using an improved neural network.

Interpretable online updated weights: Optimized square envelope spectrum for machine condition monitoring and fault diagnosis

Bingchang Hou et al.

Summary: This paper studies the integration of online monitoring data with cyclostationarity of fault transients to construct a fault cyclostationarity-based convex optimization model. An online weight updating algorithm is developed to make the weight updating of the proposed optimization model adaptive to online monitoring data. Interpretable online updated weights are proposed as an optimized square envelope spectrum (OSES) to enhance the identification of fault characteristic frequency (FCF) and its harmonics. A three-dimensional (3D) OSES and a detector with an alarming threshold are designed to achieve incipient fault time detection, fault type diagnosis, and online fault evolution monitoring. The effectiveness and superiority of this approach are validated using practical bearing datasets and experimental run-to-failure datasets.

State-space modeling and novel entropy-based health indicator for dynamic degradation monitoring of rolling element bearing

Anil Kumar et al.

Summary: This work focuses on establishing a state-space model combined with a novel probabilistic entropy-based health indicator, aiming to assess the dynamic degradation monitoring and estimation of remaining useful life (RUL) of rolling element bearings. The proposed entropy-based health indicator is less sensitive to high probabilistic distribution data, making it suitable for different load and speed conditions. Experimental results show that the entropy-based state space model outperforms existing models in estimating RUL and carrying out dynamic degradation monitoring.
