Design and integrated stroke sensing of a high-response piezoelectric direct-drive valve enhanced by push-pull compliant mechanisms

Lisong Deng et al.

Summary: This paper presents a high-speed piezoelectric direct-drive flow control valve that enhances the flow rate by introducing a new push-pull complementary compliant mechanism. An improved compliant amplifying mechanism is designed to amplify the microstroke of piezo-stacks, resulting in an enhanced resonance frequency. In addition, a high-response displacement sensor is developed and integrated into the valve to measure the spool displacement in real time. Experimental results show that the flow rate and dynamic bandwidth of the presented valve are significantly enhanced.

Taehyun Kim et al.

Summary: This paper presents an exact frequency-domain spectral element model for the transverse vibrations of a rectangular Kirchhoff plate. The model utilizes spectral forms of the general solution and boundary functions to establish relationships between spatial-domain spectral coefficients through projection method, and formulates a spectral element matrix to simulate the vibration responses and wave propagation in the plate.
