Intermediate Distribution Alignment and Its Application Into Mechanical Fault Transfer Diagnosis

Yi Qin et al.

Summary: This study proposes a novel domain adaptation mechanism, called Intermediate Distribution Alignment (IDA), to address the issue of dynamically changing aligning targets in existing mechanisms. By building a feature extractor and utilizing KL divergence, IDA can align the prior distributions of two domains and has been successfully applied to fault transfer diagnosis with better performance compared to typical mechanisms.

Data-Model Combined Driven Digital Twin of Life-Cycle Rolling Bearing

Yi Qin et al.

Summary: This article proposes a digital twin model of life-cycle rolling bearing driven by the combination of data and model. By using measured signals and the bearing fault dynamic model, the size and evolution law of bearing defects can be estimated. These information is then introduced into the bearing dynamic model in virtual space, and finally the data in virtual space is mapped to the corresponding data in physical space using an improved neural network.

Universal Domain Adaptation in Fault Diagnostics With Hybrid Weighted Deep Adversarial Learning

Wei Zhang et al.

Summary: This article proposes a universal domain adaptation method for fault diagnosis without assuming the target label set, achieving selective adaptation through source class-wise and target instance-wise weighting mechanism. By using an additional outlier identifier, the method can automatically recognize unknown fault modes while achieving class-level alignments for the shared health states without knowing the target label set.

A Novel Weighted Adversarial Transfer Network for Partial Domain Fault Diagnosis of Machinery

Weihua Li et al.

Summary: A novel weighted adversarial transfer network (WATN) is proposed for partial domain fault diagnosis, which reduces the distribution discrepancy of shared classes between domains and identifies and filters out irrelevant source examples by introducing adversarial training and a weighting learning strategy. Experiments show that WATN achieves satisfactory performance and outperforms state-of-the-art methods on two diagnosis data sets.

Adversarial Multiple-Target Domain Adaptation for Fault Classification

Mohamed Ragab et al.

Summary: Data-driven fault classification methods are widely studied, with domain adaptation techniques addressing the domain shift problem. Existing methods focus on single-source single-target settings, limiting scalability as a new model needs to be trained for each new target domain. A novel adversarial multiple-target domain adaptation method is proposed to generalize to multiple target domains concurrently.
