Efficient reliability analysis using prediction-oriented active sparse polynomial chaos expansion

Jian Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a prediction-oriented active sparse polynomial chaos expansion (PAS-PCE) method for reliability analysis. It uses the Bregman-iterative greedy coordinate descent method to compute the sparse PCE approximation and selects the optimal samples by maximizing a balanced measure. The proposed method outperforms other methods in terms of accuracy and efficiency for reliability analysis.

An improved decision tree algorithm based on variable precision neighborhood similarity

Caihui Liu et al.

Summary: The decision tree algorithm is widely used in data mining and machine learning due to its accuracy, low computational cost, and interpretability. However, when dealing with continuous data, the classical decision tree algorithm needs to discretize continuous attributes, which may result in a loss of information structure and affect the classification performance. To address this issue, this paper proposes a new decision tree algorithm based on variable precision neighborhood rough sets, considering the geometric structure of neighborhood systems to solve the contradiction in the transitivity of the equivalence relation.

Maolin Shi et al.

Summary: A robust prediction method based on the Kriging method and fuzzy c-means algorithm is proposed in this study. The method incorporates an outlier detection strategy using the fuzzy c-means algorithm and uses the Kriging method to evaluate the relationship between input and output. The results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional outlier detection method and the Kriging method in terms of detection and prediction accuracy.

A novel approach to build accurate and diverse decision tree forest

Archana R. Panhalkar et al.

Summary: The paper presents Tangent Weighted Decision Tree Forest (TWDForest), which is more accurate and diverse than random forest, by using a more accurate and uniform tangent weighting function to create a weighted decision tree forest, improving performance by taking opinions from previous trees to best fit the successor tree and avoiding the toggling of the root node. Experimental results show that TWDForest method achieves higher prediction accuracy than existing methods and generates more diverse decision trees.
