A generalized degradation tendency tracking strategy for gearbox remaining useful life prediction

Xieyi Chen et al.

Summary: Gear is crucial for mechanical equipment, and its health directly influences the overall operation of the equipment. Therefore, accurately predicting the remaining useful life (RUL) of gearboxes is of great significance. However, current deep learning-based RUL prediction methods often overlook trend characteristics and focus on the fluctuation patterns of degradation data. To address this issue, a generalized degradation tendency tracking strategy (GDTTS) is proposed to improve the prediction performance by capturing both trend and fluctuation characteristics. Experimental results on real gearbox datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

Certain Investigations on Energy-Efficient Fault Detection and Recovery Management in Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks

A. Prasanth

Summary: A research work on energy-efficient fault detection and recovery management approach for underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs) has been proposed, which can improve the network survivability. The approach combines the hidden Poisson Markov model and the analytical network process model, achieving over 99% detection accuracy and below 2% false positive rate when the fault probability is 40%. The detection accuracy is improved by up to 12% compared to existing state-of-the-art schemes.
