The generalized finite difference method with third- and fourth-order approximations and treatment of ill-conditioned stars

Summary: In this paper, second-order partial differential equations in 2D and 3D are solved using the Generalized Finite Difference Method with third- and fourth-order approximations. The influence of the number of points per star is analyzed and some reference values are established. A new strategy for dealing with ill-conditioned stars in higher-order approximations is proposed, which results in excellent results for detecting ill-conditioned stars and improving the accuracy of the numerical approximation. Parallel processing is applied to the formation of stars and derivatives, demonstrating the speedup achieved.
