Transparent conductive properties of TiON thin films

Housei Akazawa

Summary: This study investigated the characteristics of titanium oxynitride thin films. The films transformed from nanocrystalline to amorphous structure as the degree of oxidation and nitridation increased. The oxidation efficiency was higher than the nitridation efficiency. Under appropriate gas flow conditions, the films exhibited high optical transmittance. There was a logarithmic relationship between the carrier concentration and Hall mobility of the films.

Silica Zinc Titanate Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Nanocrystallites: Synthesis and Characterization

A. M. Mansour et al.

Summary: SiO(2)x:ZnO:(1-x)TiO2 nanocrystallites were synthesized via sol-gel route, co-fired at a lower temperature of 600°C. Analytical techniques including XRD, SEM/TEM, FT IR, THz, and UV-visible spectroscopy analysis were used to characterize the synthesized nanocrystallites. The results showed that the silicate phase promoted the density of the nanocrystalline ceramic during calcination, with the lower temperature calcined nanocrystallites consisting of ZnTiO3, Zn2SiO4, and TiO2 phases, exhibiting various electronic transitions.

Lossy mode resonance refractometer operating in the 1.55 μm waveband based on TiOxNy thin films deposited onto no-core multimode fiber by DC magnetron sputtering

R. Alvarez-Tamayo et al.

Summary: In this study, we propose and demonstrate the use of titanium oxynitrides (TiOxNy) as a flexible material for lossy-mode resonance (LMR) fiber sensing. The LMR characteristics of TiOxNy were investigated in a multimode fiber structure, where a no-core fiber coated with a thin film of TiOxNy was used. The results showed that a suitable sputtered coating with thickness of around 270 nm could generate the 2nd LMR order within the 1.55 μm wavelength range and exhibit high sensitivity to liquid refractive index variations.
