Infrared emission enhancement through holmium(3+) co-doped yttrium oxyfluoride doped with bismuth(3+) phosphor

N. A. M. Saeed et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that infrared emission can be enhanced by co-doping yttrium oxy-fluoride with holmium and bismuth. Energy transfer between bismuth and holmium was observed, leading to the increased intensity of infrared emission.

Photoluminescence of Bi3+ doped in YOF phosphor as an activator

Nadir A. M. Saeed et al.

Summary: PL studies of YOF doped with Bi3+ showed a broad UV emission band suitable for silicon solar cells. XPS revealed doublet peaks for Bi3+ ions and Bi metal in the Bi 4f region. The optimal doping concentration was 0.4 mol% with a quantum yield of around 60%.
