In this study, an image processing method was developed to quantitatively identify MoxBy and Mox1Crx2By phases on the joints between Inconel617 and MBF30, and an image processing algorithm was developed based on segmentation to classify the distributed phases from the regions of the base metal. The validity of the algorithm was evaluated by confirming the existence of the phases from the EPMA maps and directly verified by TEM and XRD analyses. The effects of the transient liquid phase bonding temperature on the widths of the distributed phases were quantitatively analyzed.
In this study, an image processing method was developed to quantitatively identify MoxBy and Mox1Crx2By phases on the joints between Inconel617 and MBF30, and an image processing algorithm was developed based on segmentation by classifying the distributed MoxBy and Mox1Crx2By phases from the regions of the base metal with the threshold value. This also aids the quantitative calculation of the distributed regions of these phases with various bonding-process conditions. The validity of the algorithm was indirectly evaluated by confirming the existence of MoxBy and Mox1Crx2By phases from the EPMA maps processed via the developed image processing method. The existence of the phases on the joints was directly verified by the TEM and XRD analyses. With the developed image processing method, the effects of the transient liquid phase bonding temperature on the widths of the distributed MoxBy and Mo(x1)Cr(x2)By phases were quantitatively analyzed.
