Remote administration of BICAMS measures and the Trail-Making Test to assess cognitive impairment in multiple sclerosis

Fionnuala Rogers et al.

Summary: Reliable remote cognitive testing is a safe and effective way to assess cognitive impairment in multiple sclerosis during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This study investigated the feasibility and reliability of administering cognitive assessment tests online to people with MS. The results showed that there were no significant differences between virtual and in-person administrations for most cognitive tests, suggesting that remote testing could be a valuable tool for assessing cognitive impairment.

Metrics and definitions used in the assessment of cognitive impairment in systemic lupus erythematosus: A systematic review

Kimberley Yuen et al.

Summary: The review found multiple inconsistencies in studies using neuropsychological testing for cognitive impairment (CI) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including the level of conformity to the ACR-NB, variations in CI definitions, and the types of measurement tools used. The most frequently used measurement tool for assessing CI in SLE was a neuropsychological battery, while the use of screening tests and computerized batteries has also increased over the last decade.
