Higher Fatty Acid-Based CO2-Controllable Dual-Circulation Approach for Oil Recovery

Wenjian Yue et al.

Summary: A ternary CO2-controllable dual-circulation system based on higher fatty acids was successfully established for oil recovery, demonstrating excellent performance in solvent cycling and oil extraction. The system showed rapid CO2-switchable behaviors and electrostatic interactions, resulting in high recovery rates and no residual acids in the separation process.

Insights into the deoiling efficiency of oil-based cuttings by surfactant-free microemulsions

Guobin Jiang et al.

Summary: Oil-based cuttings (OBCs) produced during shale gas exploration are classified as hazardous waste. This study demonstrates the use of surfactant-free microemulsions (SFMEs) for deoiling OBCs, achieving an oil content in the OBCs of less than 1%. The optimum conditions for cleaning OBCs with the SFME have been identified.

Using a switchable water to improve sustainable extraction for oil sands by low-concentration surfactant solution

Xiaojiang Li et al.

Summary: The use of switchable water N, N, N', N'-tetramethylhexanediamine improved the extraction of oil sands with low concentration surfactant sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate. This method effectively reduced the residual oil content in oil sands and demonstrated the potential of recycling surfactants. By lowering interfacial tension and adsorbing oil molecules, a more efficient oil sands treatment was achieved.

Oil-in-water nanoemulsion with reversible charge prepared by the phase inversion composition method

Hanmin Li et al.

Summary: The phase inversion composition (PIC) method involves changing the system composition to form nanoemulsion under constant temperature conditions. By adjusting the pH to regulate the charge of nanoemulsion, its stability and wettability can be controlled. The experiment demonstrated the efficiency of the prepared nanoemulsion in enhancing oil recovery, showing potential application prospects in petroleum recovery.
