Porphyrin Coordination Polymer with Dual Photocatalytic Sites for Efficient Carbon Dioxide Reduction

Xu Ding et al.

Summary: This study presents a new system for the photocatalysis of CO2RR by incorporating dual catalytic sites into a porous coordination polymer. The system utilizes a functional ligand, TTPP, to assemble divalent nickel ions into the coordination polymer and creates samples with different molar ratios of catalytic subunits. The photocatalytic activities of these coordination polymers were evaluated and two samples, TTPP-Ni-3 and TTPP-Ni-4, displayed extraordinary performance with high CO generation rate and selectivity. The mechanism of the dual active sites was explained through theoretical simulations.

Jian-Hong Liu et al.

Summary: Photoactive organic ligands and their metalated complexes have important applications in areas such as optical displays, sensors, toxicant detection, and biological imaging. The zinc-metalated AcTPy complex exhibits strong yellow luminescence and can be used as a fluorescent probe for zinc ions. The fluorescent emissions of Zn-AcTPy complexes are dependent on various factors, such as excited wavelengths, solvents, and protons. Additionally, Zn-AcTPy complexes can be used as fluorescent probes for detecting Cd2+ ions.

Covalent Triazine Frameworks Embedded with Ir Complexes for Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

Nanfeng Xu et al.

Summary: In this study, Ir complexes were successfully embedded into PhBp-CTF through a postcomplexation reaction, forming PhBp-CTF-Ir. Compared to the precursor without Ir complexes, PhBp-CTF-Ir exhibited a higher photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate. This is attributed to the dual role of the Ir complexes inside PhBp-CTF-Ir as both an effective photosensitizer and a proton reduction catalyst.

Encapsulation of perovskite quantum dots into a LnIII-incorporating polymer matrix to achieve white light emission

Minghui Jiang et al.

Summary: In this study, Ln(III)-incorporating polymers were used as encapsulation matrix to improve the stability of all-inorganic perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) and achieved high pure bright white light emission. The encapsulated quantum dots maintained 64% of the original emission after 21 days, while the unencapsulated ones dropped to only 4%. This encapsulation strategy not only enhances the stability of PQDs, but also solves the fluorescence reabsorption phenomenon in multi-color co-mixed white light.
