Recent advances of the core-shell MOFs in tumour therapy

Yana Zeng et al.

Summary: Coordination chemistry plays a vital role in studying the material properties of metal-organic systems. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted significant attention in medical science due to their large surface area, clear pore network, and catalytic performance. Core-shell MOF materials have higher loading rate and better stability compared to traditional MOFs, making them promising for various tumor treatments. This review article discusses the synthesis, structure, and potential applications of core-shell MOF materials in tumor therapy, including chemotherapy, phototherapy, and anti-hypoxia therapy.

Thiosulfate leaching of gold catalyzed by hexaamminecobalt(III): Electrochemical behavior and mechanisms

Yan Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the electrochemical behavior of gold leaching in ammoniacal thiosulfate solutions catalyzed by Co(NH3)6(3+), and found that Co(NH3)6(3+) is more efficient than Cu(NH3)4(2+). A new catalytic mechanism involving redox cycle between Co(NH3)6(3+) and Co(NH3)x(S2O3)(0) (x = 4, 5) was proposed for the leaching of gold with ammoniacal thiosulfate.
