Cavitation dynamics and thermodynamic effects at elevated temperatures in a small Venturi channel

Summary: The effects of temperature on hydraulic cavitation dynamics were investigated in a closed loop cavitation tunnel with a small-scale venturi type section under various operating conditions. High-speed visualization system was used to observe the cavitating flow and quantitative comparison of the cavitation dynamics and structure development were provided. The increase of fluid temperature induced the growth of cavitation volume up to about 55 degrees C, with an opposite effect beyond that temperature.
