Different inhibition mechanisms and safety effects of TPU and EVA on thermal decomposition of RDX

Jing An et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) on the pyrolysis and safety performance of polymer-bonded explosives (PBX) containing energetic materials (EMs). The results showed that TPU increased the activation energy of the EMs and inhibited the pyrolysis process, while EVA improved the thermal stability and ignition performance.

Risk assessment of polyarylether polymerization process

Juan Zhou et al.

Summary: Polyarylether (PAE) is a special engineering plastics widely used in industries such as automobile manufacturing, aerospace, electronic communications, and mechanical manufacturing. Experiments were conducted to investigate the thermal hazard of PAE polymerization process and evaluate the risk of thermal runaway, providing a foundation for preventive measures to reduce potential risks during polymerization.

Thermal decomposition and evaluation thermokinetic parameters for explosive type

Chen-Rui Cao et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the impact of water on pyrotechnic deterioration and discussed the thermal hazard characteristics of pyrotechnics under damp conditions caused by water addition. The results showed that the presence of water made the pyrotechnics more unstable and increased the likelihood of accidents.
