Polymer microspheres modified with pyrazole derivatives as potential agents in anticancer therapy - Preliminary studies

Beata Podkos et al.

Summary: This study proposes the use of pyrazole derivatives and polymer microspheres for anticancer treatment. Experimental results show that the tested pyrazole derivatives and their modified microspheres have anti-proliferative activity in vitro. Some of the modified substances exhibit the greatest ability to inhibit divisions of all cancer cells. Molecular docking studies reveal that these compounds bind to the human EphB1 receptor, and the compounds with the highest antiproliferative activity have a better fit to the active site.

Crosslinked 4-Vinylpyridine Monodisperse Functional Microspheres for Sorption of Ibuprofen and Ketoprofen

Marta Grochowicz et al.

Summary: This study presents the use of new polymeric porous microspheres based on 4-vinylpyridine for the preconcentration and removal of ibuprofen and ketoprofen. The microspheres show different sorption capacities depending on the pH conditions, with higher affinity towards ibuprofen. The recovery of the drugs after dynamic sorption experiments was found to be greater than 90%.

Porous DMN-co-GMA copolymers modified with 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-pyrrolidone

Malgorzata Maciejewska et al.

Summary: Porous microspheres modified with 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-pyrrolidone (HP) from 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate (GMA) and 1,4-di(methacryloyloxymethyl) naphthalene (DMN) did not show significant changes in internal structure, but exhibited noticeable differences in thermal properties, with improved thermal stability in helium atmosphere when reacted with HP.
