Analysis of kinetic models for hydrocracking of heavy oils for In-situ and Ex-situ applications

Guillermo Felix et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the kinetic models for in-situ and ex-situ upgrading of heavy crude oil or residue using nanocatalyst and hydrogen. Most of the models adopt a lumping approach and assume a first-order reaction. The calculated activation energies indicate that the lowest energy demanding reactions for residue, vacuum gasoil, and distillates are in series.

SARA-based kinetic model for non-catalytic aquathermolysis of heavy crude oil

Guillermo Felix et al.

Summary: A new kinetic model based on SARA fractions is proposed for the non-catalytic aquathermolysis of heavy crude oil. Experimental results demonstrate a good fit between the model and the data.

Structure Effect on Heating Performance of Microwave Inductive Waste Lubricating Oil Pyrolysis

Zhenyu Zhao et al.

Summary: Microwave plays a crucial role in the pyrolysis process of waste lubricating oil, but the choice of pyrolizer structure directly affects the temperature distribution and product quality. Different structures, such as single circular tube, parallel tubes, pulse type spherical tube, and circular tube equipped with baffles, have their own advantages and disadvantages in the continuous pyrolysis process. Among these structures, the spherical tube shows more uniform temperature distribution and faster liquid renewal process, making it a durable and feasible strategy for microwave-inductive pyrolysis.

Zhenyu Zhao et al.

Summary: This study utilizes microwave energy to enhance the co-pyrolysis of PET wastes and biomass, finding a synergistic effect between PET and biomass in producing value-added organic compounds suitable for gasoline and kerosene. Additionally, carbon powder, Fe3O4, and CaO play different roles in the MAP process, facilitating the conversion of organic wastes.
