Parametric study and optimization of a novel geothermal-driven combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) system

Sobhan Ghorbani et al.

Summary: This study presents a combined cooling, heating, and power (CCHP) cogeneration system utilizing geothermal energy heat recovery. The system consists of three subsystems: the Kalina cycle (KC), ejector refrigeration cycle (ERC), and organic Rankine cycle (ORC). A comprehensive program is developed to analyze energy, exergy, and exergoeconomics. The TOPSIS multi-objective optimization method is used to select optimal parameters based on Net output power, total investment cost, and exergy efficiency. Thermal efficiency, exergy efficiency, total investment cost, total exergy destruction rate, net power production capacity, and cycle cooling capacity are evaluated under optimal conditions.

Numerical modeling of droplets injection in the secondary flow of the wet steam ejector in the refrigeration cycle

Daryoush Dadpour et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the effects of droplets injection at secondary flow on the performance of the refrigeration cycle. The Eulerian-Eulerian method is used to simulate the flow, and the results are validated with experimental data. It is found that the wetness and number of droplets have an impact on the COP, T-outlet, and ER of the refrigeration cycle.

4E assessment and 3D parametric analysis of an innovative liquefied natural gas production process assisted by a diffusion-absorption refrigeration unit

Mehdi Mehrpooya et al.

Summary: A single mixed refrigerant (SMR) LNG process, precooled with a diffusion-absorption refrigeration (DAR) system, is proposed and evaluated in this study. The results show that the cost per unit exergy is 13.54 $/GJ and the cost rate is 90.71 $/s for the LNG output. The analysis also reveals that the investment cost rates differ significantly from the exergy destruction cost rates in most components.
