Green mediated combustion synthesis of copper zinc oxide using Eryngium planum leaf extract as a natural green fuel: Excellent adsorption capacity towards Congo red dye

Zeinab Ahsani-Namin et al.

Summary: In this study, CuO/ZnO nanostructures with meso/microporous structures were synthesized using a green mediated solution combustion method. The synthesized samples were characterized using various techniques and their adsorption capacity for CR dye was evaluated. The effects of various parameters on the adsorption process were investigated, and kinetic, isotherm, and thermodynamic studies were conducted. The results showed that the synthesized CuO/ZnO nanostructures are effective in removing CR dye from industrial wastewaters.

Green synthesis and characterization of Fe3O4 nanoparticles using Chlorella-K01 extract for potential enhancement of plant growth stimulating and antifungal activity

Theint Theint Win et al.

Summary: This research aimed to assess the efficacy of iron oxide nanoparticles synthesized with microalgal products as plant growth stimulants and antifungal agents. The Fe3O4-NPs significantly improved germination and vigor index of various plants and exhibited antifungal activity against several fungal species. Various characterization techniques were used to study the green fabricated magnetite nanoparticles, revealing a synergistic effect of microalgal proteins, carbohydrates, and polyphenols in the biofabrication of iron nanoparticles. A spherical dispersion of biosynthesized Fe3O4-NPs with an average diameter of 76.5 nm was produced in the synthetic process.
