Inorganic nanofillers TiO2 nanoparticles reinforced host polymer polypyrrole for microelectronic devices and high-density energy storage systems

Ahmed N. Al-hakimi et al.

Summary: In this study, nanocomposite films reinforced with different concentrations of tetragonal titanium dioxide nanoparticles were fabricated using pure polypyrrole as the host material. The films were characterized to investigate their structural, optical, morphological, electrical, and dielectric properties. Results showed that the addition of titanium dioxide nanoparticles enhanced the amorphous regions of the polypyrrole structure and increased the absorbance of the films. The energy gap of the films decreased as the concentration of titanium dioxide nanoparticles increased. The inclusion of titanium dioxide nanoparticles also improved the ionic conductivity and dielectric permittivity of the nanocomposite films. These findings suggest that these nanocomposites have potential applications in flexible capacitors, battery separators, and high-density energy storage systems.
