Palladium-graphene hybrid as an electrocatalyst for hydrogen peroxide reduction

Jelena Covic et al.

Summary: In this study, the electrocatalytic reduction of hydrogen peroxide in an alkaline solution was investigated on a hybrid material based on palladium particles supported on graphene. The Pd@G exhibited pronounced electrocatalytic activity for the hydrogen peroxide reduction reaction, which involves complex electrode mechanisms and adsorption phenomena on the surface of palladium nanoparticles.

Mini review: Electrochemical electrode based on graphene and its derivatives for heavy metal ions detection

Lei Han et al.

Summary: With the increasing environmental pollution, the accumulation of heavy metal ions in water resources poses serious harm to human beings, highlighting the importance of detecting heavy metal ions. Electrochemical methods, which are simple, sensitive, and have a quick response, rely heavily on the performance of the electrochemical sensor for detection. Graphene and its derivatives, such as reduced graphene oxide (rGO), graphene quantum dots (GQD), and graphene aerogels (GA), have shown to enhance the performance of sensors. This article introduces the use of graphene and its derivatives modified electrodes and provides guidance for future development of graphene-based electrochemical sensors.

Maternal use of acetaminophen during pregnancy and neurobehavioral problems in offspring at 3 years: A prospective cohort study

Kristin K. K. Sznajder et al.

Summary: This study investigated the associations between prenatal acetaminophen exposure and neurobehavioral problems in children at the age of 3 years, with a focus on the potential confounding effects of prenatal stress. The findings revealed that children exposed to acetaminophen during pregnancy had higher scores on the withdrawn, sleep problems, and attention problems scales of the Child Behavior Checklist. The study also showed that prenatal stress was significantly associated with all 7 syndrome scales. After adjusting for prenatal stress and other confounders, sleep problems and attention problems remained significantly higher in children exposed to acetaminophen.

Voltammetric Determination of an Anti-rheumatoid Drug Acemetacin on Graphite Flake Paste Electrode and Glassy Carbon Electrode

Natalia Festinger et al.

Summary: A simple and sensitive square wave voltammetric procedure was developed for the determination of acemetacin (ACM) at graphite flake paste electrode (GFPE) and glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The method showed wide linear range for ACM concentration and was successfully applied for ACM determination in pharmaceuticals and spiked urine with satisfying recoveries. The electrochemical oxidation of ACM was found to be an irreversible process controlled by mixed nature of the mass transfer process.
