Low temperature cluster glass behavior in nanosized La0.5-xHoxCa0.5MnO3 (0? x? 0.15) manganites

The dynamic magnetic properties of La0.5-xHoxCa0.5MnO3 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.15) nanosized samples were investigated. The temperature dependence of AC magnetic susceptibility measurements showed a broad maximum at freezing temperature Tf, indicating the presence of spin or cluster glass behavior. For the substituted samples, a second peak below Tf was detected and more pronounced for x = 0.15, indicating the appearance of cluster glass behavior. The frequency-dependent peak followed the Vogel-Fulcher and power law, ruling out the superparamagnetic state. An unusual decrease of Tf was observed for Ho-substituted samples with increasing frequency.
