Insomnia symptoms are associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus among adults aged 50 and older

Summary: Insomnia symptoms were found to be positively associated with the incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), regardless of competing risk models. This positive association was more pronounced in women and participants aged 50 to 65. The findings suggest that managing sleep problems may play a crucial role in preventing T2DM.
