The strategy has been successfully tested for measuring testosterone levels in saliva of volunteers, achieving low limits of detection and quantification, good repeatability, and high relative recoveries. It shows promise for rapid sample analysis and could be further improved with the use of a multichannel pipette.

The article also summarizes the formation principle and key features of surface nanodroplets, and discusses the major findings of nanoextraction combined with in-droplet chemistry for sensitive and quantitative detection. Lastly, the future trend of nanoextraction is discussed.

In this study, a fast, sensitive, and easy-to-perform method using simultaneous derivatization and salting-out liquid-liquid microextraction (SALLME) coupled with GC-MS was developed for the determination of biogenic amines in wine samples. The proposed method showed good sensitivity, recovery, and reproducibility, and the biogenic amine index (BAI) was applied to assess the quality of the wines.

Summary: Liquid phase microextraction into a microfluidic device has made significant advances in downscaled and miniaturized extraction of sulfonamides. The proposed method using tributyl phosphate as a supported liquid membrane achieved high extraction efficiencies and low detection limits for sulfadiazine, sulfamerazine, sulfamethazine, and sulfamethoxazole. The developed microfluidic device showed great potential for efficient and rapid determination of sulfonamides in urine samples.
