Investigation and Highly Accurate Prediction of Missed Tryptic Cleavages by Deep Learning

Bo Sun et al.

Summary: Trypsin is an important proteolytic enzyme in MS-based proteomic research, but its cleavage can be affected by surrounding amino acids, leading to incomplete proteolysis. The dpMC algorithm provides high accuracy in predicting missed cleavages, with AUCs above 0.99 and F1 score and MCC values of 0.9677 and 0.9349, respectively. It outperforms other prediction methods and can be integrated into MS database searching effectively.
