A natural antibacterial agent based on modified chitosan by hinokitiol for antibacterial application on cotton fabric

Zihan Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, hinokitiol-grafted-chitosan (HTCS) was prepared and used as an antibacterial agent for cotton fabric treatment. The results showed that HTCS had a lower minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and higher antibacterial rate against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus compared to chitosan (CS) and hinokitiol (HT) alone. The HTCS-treated cotton fabric maintained good antibacterial properties even after multiple washing cycles.
