Graphene on Chromia: A System for Beyond-Room-Temperature Spintronics

Keke He et al.

Summary: Evidence is provided for robust spin-dependent transport in monolayer graphene deposited on the surface of the antiferromagnetic/magneto-electric oxide chromia. The measurements reveal a strong signal that is present even at zero external magnetic field and remains visible at high temperatures. These results suggest that graphene-on-chromia heterostructures have great potential for spintronic devices.

MeF-RAM: A New Non-Volatile Cache Memory Based on Magneto-Electric FET

Shaahin Angizi et al.

Summary: This article introduces a non-volatile cache memory design, MeF-RAM, based on MEFET technology, and demonstrates its potential in the memory system through proper co-design. The experimental comparison with other memory technologies shows that MeF-RAM outperforms typical 6T-SRAM and 2T1R SOT-MRAM in terms of energy area latency.

Role of quantum well in Pd(111) thin film magnetism

Thi H. Ho et al.

Summary: This study investigates the magnetism of Pd(111) films using first-principles density functional calculations. The results show that a ferromagnetic state is more stable than a paramagnetic state at around 2.5 monolayers thick. The observation of a nesting wave vector and periodic crossing of quantum well states on the Fermi level helps understand the formation of ferromagnetism in the Pd(111) films. The study also finds that tensile strain can enhance the ferromagnetism, and the stability of the film is affected by its thickness.

Magnetotransport Study of van der Waals CrPS4/(Pt, Pd) Heterostructures: Spin-Flop Transition and Room-Temperature Anomalous Hall Effect

Rui Wu et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated magnetotransport in heterostructures composed of the van der Waals antiferromagnet CrPS4 and the heavy metals Pt and Pd. The results showed that both types of devices exhibited the spin-flop transition of CrPS4 and a strong anomalous Hall effect. The CrPS4/Pd devices, in particular, demonstrated a more significant enhancement in the anomalous Hall effect at temperatures above 70 K and displayed a topological Hall effect signal, possibly associated with chiral spin structures at the interface.

Spin-to-charge conversion and interface-induced spin Hall magnetoresistance in yttrium iron garnet/metallic bilayers

J. Holanda et al.

Summary: In this study, the spin-to-charge current interconversion process in YIG/metallic bilayers was investigated using spin pumping effect (SPE) and spin Hall magnetoresistance (SMR) techniques. The correlation between spin-to-charge conversion and SMR was directly verified, indicating the dominant role of the interface in the conversion process.
