Ferrimagnetic spintronics

Se Kwon Kim et al.

Summary: Ferrimagnets, composed of multiple antiferromagnetically coupled magnetic elements, offer advantages of both ferromagnets and antiferromagnets, including easy control of magnetization by external field, faster dynamics than ferromagnets, and potential for high-density devices. This Review provides a summary of recent progress in ferrimagnetic spintronics, focusing on functionalities such as spin transport, spin texture dynamics, and all-optical switching.

Temperature-Gradient-Driven Magnetic Skyrmion Motion

Eleonora Raimondo et al.

Summary: The static and dynamic properties of skyrmions have recently received increased attention due to their potential application as information carriers and for unconventional computing. While the current-driven dynamics has been explored deeply, the study of temperature gradient-induced dynamics, known as skyrmion caloritronics, is still at its early stages. This research advances the field by identifying the role of entropic torques caused by the temperature dependence of magnetic parameters.

Skyrmion motion and partitioning of domain wall velocity driven by repulsive interactions

Xiangjun Xing et al.

Summary: Through micromagnetic simulations, researchers propose a method to drive the motion of magnetic skyrmions in a uniform perpendicular field by utilizing intrinsic repulsive interactions. They demonstrate that the velocity of the skyrmion train evolves according to a 1 / (N-s + 1) relation with N-s denoting the number of skyrmions. This study highlights the role of spin textures' interaction in skyrmion dynamics and provides an alternative route for skyrmion manipulation.

Field-driven domain wall motion in ferrimagnetic nanowires

K. Y. Jing et al.

Summary: This article investigates the motion of magnetic domain walls in nanowires, specifically in ferrimagnetic materials. By using the principle of energy conservation and ferrimagnetic dynamics, the physics behind the motion of magnetic domain walls is revealed, and an accurate velocity formula beyond the Walker breakdown field is obtained, which agrees with experimental results.
