Development of the temperature-dependent interatomic potential for molecular dynamics simulation of metal irradiated with an ultrashort pulse laser

Yuta Tanaka et al.

Summary: In this study, we propose an extension of the embedded atom method to construct an interatomic potential dependent on the electron temperature, which is then applied to classical molecular dynamics simulation of copper. The validity of this method is demonstrated by comparing various physical properties with those obtained from finite-temperature density functional theory.

Fully Automated Data Acquisition for Laser Production Cyber-Physical System

Yohei Kobayashi et al.

Summary: Due to the complexity of laser processing parameters and material factors, finding an optimized parameter set is difficult without relying on human intuition and experience, which is not scalable for future mass customization needs. Developing a cyber-space solution to transfer human expertise and intuition is critical, involving automated data acquisition systems and artificial intelligence methods to enhance experimental and theoretical insights for specific laser production challenges. Proposed methods aim to establish cyber-physical systems specialized in laser production facets via AI-based simulation.
