Competition between Hydrogen and Anagostic Bonds in Ruthenocene Phases under High Pressure

Ida Moszczynska et al.

Summary: High pressure promotes the formation of anagostic bonds CH center dot center dot center dot Ru in the polymorphs of ruthenocene RuCp2. The transition between different phases of ruthenocene under pressure exhibits a wide hysteresis and is accompanied by twinning-like oriented growth of crystals.

A Multifaceted Ferrocene Interlayer for Highly Stable and Efficient Lithium Doped Spiro-OMeTAD-based Perovskite Solar Cells

Thomas Webb et al.

Summary: A new approach is presented in this paper to address the issue of dopant induced instability in high efficiency perovskite solar cells (PSCs). By utilizing organometallocenes, significant improvements are observed in device stability and hole extraction efficiency at the hole transporting layer (HTL) interface.

Electronic Coupling in 1,2,3-Triazole Bridged Ferrocenes and Its Impact on Reactive Oxygen Species Generation and Deleterious Activity in Cancer Cells

Przemyslaw Bieganski et al.

Summary: In this study, the synthesis and anticancer activity of six 1,2,3-triazole ferrocenyl compounds were discussed. The compounds showed high activity against human non-small-cell lung cancer cells, surpassing the activity of reference anticancer drugs. Reactive oxygen species were found to play a major role in the antiproliferative activity of these compounds.

Has Ferrocene Really Delivered Its Role in Accentuating the Bioactivity of Organic Scaffolds?

Bharvi Sharma et al.

Summary: Ferrocene, with its inherent stability, excellent redox properties, and low toxicity, plays an important role in bioorganometallic chemistry. The development of remarkable antimalarial and anticancer drugs from ferrocene demonstrates its significant contribution to medicinal chemistry. Incorporating ferrocene into organic compounds and natural products can influence the mode of action and biological activities, highlighting its potential in designing safer and promising drugs.

Solvent contribution to ferrocene conformation: Theory and experiment

Feng Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of solvents on the configuration and energy components of ferrocene through a combination of theoretical calculations and experimental measurements. The results indicate that the polarity of the solvent has a small effect on the relative energies of the rotamers of Fc, but significantly alters the electrostatic and Pauli energy contributions to Fc conformers.

Lattice-Strain Coupled to Molecular Conformation and Disorder in Compressed Nickelocene

Ida Moszczynska et al.

Summary: Isothermal compression of nickelocene to 1.3 GPa leads to the ordered phase I', which shows differences in crystal strain and molecular disorder compared to ferrocene. The molecular conformation and crystal environment play a crucial role in the stability of phase I' of nickelocene.
