Cesium Manganese Bromide Nanocrystal Sensitizers for Broadband Vis-to-NIR Downshifting

Houman Bahmani Jalali et al.

Summary: This study presents a downshifting configuration based on lead-free cesium manganese bromide nanocrystals, which act as broad visible absorbers coupled to sharp emission in the near-infrared (NIR) regions. The correlation between lanthanide emission and the nanocrystal's visible absorption was confirmed, and the mechanism of downconversion was understood through density functional theory calculations.

Highly Stable Orange-Red Long-Persistent Luminescent CsCdCl3:Mn2+ Perovskite Crystal

Shuangshuang He et al.

Summary: In this study, a hexagonal Mn2+-doped CsCdCl3 perovskite crystal with stable photoluminescence (PL) at both high temperature and humidity was reported. The room temperature long-persistent luminescence (LPL) of the single crystals can last up to 1480 s and can be adjusted by changing the concentration of Mn2+ ion doping. The photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) is up to 91.4%, and it can maintain more than 90% of the initial PL spectral integral area at 150 degrees C (423 K). High humidity stability PL can be achieved with more than 75% of the initial PL intensity after 55 days of immersion in water. These excellent properties indicate the potential application of the LPL material in lighting indication and anti-counterfeiting.

Highly Luminescent and Stable CsPbI3 Perovskite Nanocrystals with Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Ligand Passivation for Red-Light-Emitting Diodes

Jibin Zhang et al.

Summary: This study introduces stable and highly luminescent black-phase CsPbI3 nanocrystals passivated by novel ligands of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), which exhibit significantly reduced surface defects, enhanced stability, and superior photoluminescence efficiency. Red perovskite light-emitting diodes based on the SDS-CsPbI3 nanocrystals achieve an external quantum efficiency of 8.4%, showing a 4-fold improvement compared to devices using oleic acid-modified CsPbI3 nanocrystals.

Synergistic electronic coupling/cross-talk between the isolated metal halide units of zero dimensional heterometallic (Sb, Mn) halide hybrid with enhanced emission

Anupam Biswas et al.

Summary: The study reports the synthesis and characterization of heterometallic (Sb, Mn) 0D hybrid, Tris SbMnCl, with isolated MnCl5 units showing strong synergistic interaction between the metal halide units. Proton conductivity measurements and first-principles calculations suggest the unique role of networked water molecules in mediating electronic coupling/energy transfer between separated metal halide units in Tris SbMnCl hybrid. The role of structure/composition of the synthesized heterometallic 0D hybrid in achieving higher electronic dimensionality than 0D through synergistic electronic interaction between isolated metal halide units is highlighted in this report.

Phase Engineering of Cesium Manganese Bromides Nanocrystals with Color-Tunable Emission

Qingkun Kong et al.

Summary: The study introduced a unique phase transition strategy to engineer the emission color of lead-free cesium manganese bromides nanocrystals, achieving tunable red/green/blue emission with high color purity. Under humid conditions, both 1D and 0D nanocrystals can transform into 0D Cs2MnBr4.2 H2O nanocrystals, which can inversely transform back into a mixture of phases. This work highlights the tunable optical properties in single component nanocrystals through phase engineering, providing a new direction for future light-emitting devices.
