Doping Concentration Influenced Pyro-Phototronic Effect in Self-Powered Photodetector Based on Ga-Incorporated ZnO Microwire/p+-GaN Heterojunction

Peng Wan et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effects of pyro-phototronic effect on self-powered photodetectors, showing that increasing Ga concentration in ZnO:Ga microwires can enhance pyroelectric responsivity, compensating for decreased photovoltaic responsivity and improving total responsivities of PDs. The findings also reveal that incorporating Ga dopant can increase the rate of photogenerated temperature variation, narrow depletion layer at ZnO:Ga/GaN heterojunction, and significantly reduce the decay time of pyroelectric current, providing insights into the development of high-performance self-powered PDs.

A simple and low-cost triboelectric nanogenerator based on two dimensional ZnO nanosheets and its application in portable electronics

P. Supraja et al.

Summary: This report demonstrates a new triboelectric material pair for preparing a low-cost and high-performance triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG). The output voltage and power density of the TENG are confirmed through switching polarity and load tests. Furthermore, the influence of force frequency and device size on the TENG response is studied. This new TENG shows potential applications in various self-powered electronic devices and systems.

Asymmetric 2D MoS2 for Scalable and High-Performance Piezoelectric Sensors

Wonbong Choi et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that meticulous defect engineering can significantly enhance the piezoelectric effect of large-scale sputtered, asymmetric 2D MoS2, resulting in outstanding piezoelectric performance and excellent stability. The sulfur vacancy density is positively correlated with the piezoelectric strength, which increases with the annealing temperature.

Development of porous ZnO thin films for enhancing piezoelectric nanogenerators and force sensors

Ping-Che Lee et al.

Summary: This study explores the use of porous ZnO thin films to enhance the output voltage and sensitivity of piezoelectric nanogenerators. The presence of pores leads to lattice contraction in the c-direction, resulting in improved performance. Transmission electron microscopy characterizations confirm the mechanism behind the enhancements.
