Tunable Dual Emission in Bi3+/Te4+-Doped Cs2HfCl6DoublePerovskites for White Light-Emitting Diode Applications

Wei Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a co-doping strategy was employed to incorporate Bi3+ and Te4+ into Cs2HfCl6 perovskite, resulting in microcrystals with bright blue, yellow, and warm white emissions. The co-doped Cs2HfCl6 exhibited efficient dual emission due to the typical3P1 -> 1S0 transition emission from Bi3+ and self-trapped excitons (STEs) from Te4+. The concentration-optimized Cs2HfCl6:Te4+ showed excellent stability and high photo-luminescence quantum yield (PLQY). When used in a white light-emitting diode (WLED), the Bi3+/Te4+ co-doped Cs2HfCl6 produced warm white light with a high color rendering index (CRI) and correlated color temperature (CCT).

Regulating the Singlet and Triplet Emission of Sb3+ Ions to Achieve Single-Component White-Light Emitter with Record High Color-Rendering Index and Stability

Fei Zhang et al.

Summary: This study presents a facile ion-doping technology to synthesize an efficient single-component white-light emitter Cs2ZrCl6:Sb. The introduction of Sb3+ ions stimulates the emission of singlet and triplet states, resulting in a high-quality white emission. Stable white-light-emitting diodes with a record half-lifetime of 2003 hours were successfully fabricated using Cs2ZrCl6:1.5%Sb as the down conversion phosphor. This research offers an effective ion-doping strategy for the design of single-component white-light emitters, making practical applications in lighting technologies possible.

Origin of Luminescence in Sb3+- and Bi3+-Doped Cs2SnCl6 Perovskites: Excited State Relaxation and Spin-Orbit Coupling

Habibul Arfin et al.

Summary: Sb3+ and Bi3+ doped Cs2SnCl6 zero-dimensional perovskites are stable and nontoxic phosphors for LEDs. The luminescence originates from the spin-orbit coupling of the s-electrons of the dopants and the ns(1)np(1) excited state. The different number of emission peaks in Sb3+ and Bi3+ doping is due to the interplay between Jahn-Teller distortion and spin-orbit coupling.

Summary: This study investigates the double luminescence phenomenon in Sb3+-doped Cs2ZrCl6 perovskite crystals, demonstrating the independent charging processes of host self-trapped excitons and dopant-induced extrinsic self-trapped excitons, with minimal interactions between the two in the zero-dimensional crystal lattice. Dynamic color tuning in Cs2ZrCl6:Sb3+ crystals is achieved through selective excitation of different self-trapped excitons, offering exciting opportunities for constructing multicolor light-emitting devices and encrypting multilevel optical codes.
