Ready-to-use optical H2O2 sensor based on stimuli-responsive polyacrylic film and nanofibers containing spiropyran

Atena Nazari et al.

Summary: In this study, stimuli-responsive sensors were developed for H2O2 detection through a reaction-induced and concentration-dependent process. These sensors exhibited good performance and sensitivity in aqueous media. The nanofiber samples showed better detection capability compared to the film samples due to the higher specific surface area and porosity. The practical application of the solid sensor was validated with a high recovery rate in water resources.

Optical Chemosensors based on Spiropyran-Doped Polymer Nanoparticles for Sensing pH of Aqueous Media

Milad Babazadeh-Mamaqani et al.

Summary: In this study, photochromic polymer nanoparticles were synthesized using reverse atom transfer radical polymerization and doping of spiropyran during nanoprecipitation. The results demonstrated that the particle size, pH of the medium, and copolymer composition significantly affected the photochromic properties. Additionally, nanoparticles with hydroxyl or amine functional groups showed high efficiency for pH chemosensor applications. Photochromic cellulosic papers prepared from the nanoparticles were highly applicable for acid vapor detection.

Color-switchable hybrid dots/hydroxyethyl cellulose ink for anti-counterfeiting applications

Xijun Fu et al.

Summary: A new environmentally friendly and cost-effective anti-counterfeiting ink has been developed by combining hybrid dots (silicon/carbon) with HEC binder, which can prevent aggregation-induced quenching of the dots. The ink can be successfully transferred onto different surfaces using screen-printing technique, showing widespread practicability. The fluorescent color of the patterns can be switched by adjusting environmental pH-value, making it suitable for high-level anti-counterfeiting applications.

Reza Azimi et al.

Summary: The study successfully developed photochromic copolymer nanofibers for the induction of dual-mode security marking. These security marks displayed high intensities through both photochromic coloration and fluorescence emission, were rapidly authenticated under UV irradiation, and the process was fully reversible. This was achieved by utilizing the high surface area of the photochromic nanofibers for enhanced light absorption and intense optical responses.
