Effects of thermal acclimation on the proteome of the planarian Crenobia alpina from an alpine freshwater spring

Joshua Niklas Ebner et al.

Summary: This study investigates the acclimation capacity of the planarian Crenobia alpina and its ability to maintain molecular homeostasis in response to changes in temperature. Mutually Exclusive Expression of COL11A1 by CAFs and Tumour Cells in a Large panCancer and a Salivary Gland Carcinoma Cohort

Christoph Arolt et al.

Summary: COL11A1 is a central component of the extracellular matrix in many carcinomas and is mainly produced by cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs). The presence of COL11A1 positive CAFs in colon, breast, and salivary duct carcinomas may be promising candidates for antidesmoplastic or COL11A1-targeted therapies, and correlate with tumour grade, stage, and spread. The mutually exclusive production of COL11A1 by tumour cells and CAFs in specific types of salivary gland carcinomas could represent a novel mode of extracellular matrix production with potential relevance for future therapies.

Prognostic Value of Tumor Proportion Score in Salivary Gland Carcinoma

Fumihiko Sato et al.

Summary: Limited information is available about the role of PD-L1 expression and CD8(+)TIL density in the tumor immune microenvironment of salivary gland carcinoma (SGC) patients. This study aimed to evaluate the association between patient prognosis and PD-L1 expression, CD8(+)TIL density, and other immune-related parameters. The results suggest that TPS may be a useful prognostic biomarker for SGC patients undergoing definitive surgery.

Potential Therapeutic Significance of Laminin in Head and Neck Squamous Carcinomas

Nathalia Meireles Da Costa et al.

Summary: Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) are common and deadly tumors, mainly occurring in oral cavity, pharynx, and larynx tissues. Alterations in the extracellular matrix (ECM), particularly involving laminin, play a crucial role in HNSCC development and progression. Laminin subtypes 111 (LN-111) and 332 (LN-332) are associated with malignant transformation, influencing key processes such as proliferation, adhesion, migration, invasion, and metastasis in HNSCC by regulating various pathways, including the EGFR/MAPK signaling pathway. This suggests that laminin may serve as a potential therapeutic target for HNSCC.
