Heterogeneous Copper-Free Sonogashira Cross-Coupling Reactions Catalyzed by a Recyclable Orthopalladated Azo-Complex

Kazem Karami et al.

Summary: This work presents the preparation and characterization of a highly dispersed Pd catalyst derived from pincer-type orthopalladated azo-complex on titania support. The catalyst showed efficient performance in copper-free Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions with aryl iodides, bromides, and chlorides, yielding high amounts of coupling products in environmentally friendly reaction media.

Transition metal nanoparticles as nanocatalysts for Suzuki, Heck and Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions

Muhammad Ashraf et al.

Summary: Transition metal (TM) catalyzed cross-coupling reactions, particularly Suzuki, Heck, and Sonogashira cross-coupling reactions, using transition metal nanocatalysts have attracted significant attention due to their high surface area, large number of catalytic active centers, and chemical stability. The use of colloidal nanomaterials combines the advantages of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts, improving the overall catalytic efficiency and cost. This review article focuses on recent advances in developing nanostructured catalysts derived from transition metals, such as Pd, Pt, Cu, Ag, Ni, Fe, Au, and Zn, and their application in selective carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions.

A Pd(II) Magnetically Retrievable Catalyst for Hiyama Reaction: Functionalization of Magnetic Mesoporous Silica via Click Reaction

Samira Mousavi et al.

Summary: A nitrogen ligand, DPPE, was synthesized and characterized. Magnetic mesoporous silica composite, MNP@SiO2-SBA, was obtained through embedding magnetite nano-particles between SBA-15 channels. DPPE palladium dichloride, MNP@SiO2-SBA-DPPE-Pd(II), was prepared and fully characterized. The activity and recyclability of the supported magnetic Pd(II) catalyst were evaluated under optimized conditions.

2-Pyridyl-benzimidazole-Pd(II)/Pd(0) Supported on Magnetic Mesoporous Silica: Aerobic Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohols/Benzaldehydes and Reduction of Nitroarenes

Mohammad Sajedi et al.

Summary: In this study, 2-(2-pyridyl)benzimidazole (PyBzIm) was supported onto magnetic mesoporous silica to form a magnetically retrievable supported catalyst. The catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity and recyclability in the aerobic oxidation of benzyl alcohols and benzaldehydes, as well as the transfer hydrogenation of nitroarenes.

Green and sustainable palladium nanomagnetic catalyst stabilized by glucosamine-functionalized Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticles for Suzuki and Heck reactions

Hassan Eslahi et al.

Summary: A novel magnetic and heterogeneous palladium-based catalyst was synthesized and fully characterized, showing high activity in cross-coupling reactions. The catalyst, stabilized by glucosamine, demonstrated excellent recyclability for consecutive reaction cycles without significant reduction in catalytic activity.

A new Pd(II)-supported catalyst on magnetic SBA-15 for C-C bond formation via the Heck and Hiyama cross-coupling reactions

Leila Rahimi et al.

Summary: The magnetic mesoporous silica composite was prepared by embedding magnetite nanoparticles between SBA-15 channels and complexing with Pd(II). The supported Pd(II) catalyst showed high activity in Heck and Hiyama reactions, with better results observed for aryl bromides and iodides, and exhibited noticeable stability and reusability.
