Myzus persicae (Sulzer) is a crop pest causing economic losses globally. Chemical pesticides have been heavily relied upon to manage this pest, resulting in resistance. New compounds effective against M. persicae are needed. Five novel polyketides, strekingmycins A-E (1-5), were isolated from Streptomyces sp. SA61. Their structures were determined using MS, NMR, and X-ray diffraction. Strekingmycins showed activity against M. persicae at concentrations between 4.4 and 9.4 μg/mL.
