A proposed CT classification of progressive lung parenchymal injury complicating pediatric lymphobronchial tuberculosis: From reversible to irreversible lung injury

Savvas Andronikou et al.

Summary: Lymphobronchial tuberculosis (LBTB) is commonly seen in children with primary TB, causing airway compression that can lead to irreversible lung destruction if not treated promptly. CT is considered the best method for diagnosing and determining the severity of parenchymal complications in LBTB. By staging the severity of lung injury in LBTB through CT imaging, appropriate management decisions can be made, ranging from bronchoscopic airway clearance to surgical decompression.
