Multilayer stack structural designing of titania and zinc white using atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique and study of thermally governed dielectric dispersion and conduction under alternating electric fields

Neeraj Mehta et al.

Summary: This study conducted experiments on a.c. conduction and dielectric response of bi-layers and quadri-layers of transparent TiO2/ZnO thin film oxides, with 100 nm thickness, deposited on silicon substrates using an ALD system. The results showed that Jonscher's power law was applicable to a.c. conductivity, and the behavior of conductivity and the change of frequency exponent confirmed the usage of correlated barrier hopping mechanism. The dielectric response of the dielectric constant and loss with temperature and frequency was also analyzed. The increase in number of layers in the multilayer stacks was investigated, and the presence of Meyer-Neldel relation in thermally triggered a.c. conduction was reported.

AC conductivity and dielectric parameters studies in multilayer TiO2/ZnO thin films produced via ALD technique

S. S. Fouad et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the influence of frequency and temperature on the AC conductivity and dielectric parameters of multilayered TiO2/ZnO thin films. The fabricated films, deposited using atomic layer deposition (ALD), show promising electrical properties that are sensitive to frequency and temperature. The dielectric constant and loss are found to be dependent on the frequency and temperature.

The real role of Cu metallic interlayer on the dielectric dispersion and conduction mechanism of TiO2/Cu/TiO2 nanolaminates

S. S. Fouad et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of different Cu metallic interlayer thicknesses on the dielectric properties and AC conductivity of TiO2/Cu/TiO2 nanolaminated films. The results showed that the Cu interlayer thickness played a vital role in the electrical and dielectric properties of the films, with potential value for various energy storage applications.

Microstructural and optical duality of TiO2/Cu/TiO2 trilayer films grown by atomic layer deposition and DC magnetron sputtering br

S. S. Fouad et al.

Summary: In this study, a comparative analysis of TiO2/Cu/TiO2 thin films with different Cu interlayer thickness was conducted. The results showed that increasing the Cu interlayer thickness can enhance the photocatalytic activity and reduce the indirect optical band gap energy, making the films more efficient in absorbing visible light.

Effect of Cu interlayer on opto-electrical parameters of ZnO thin films

S. S. Fouad et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigated the influence of a Cu interlayer on the structure and optical properties of ZnO layers. The Cu interlayer was deposited by magnetron sputtering, while the ZnO layers were deposited by atomic layer deposition. The results showed that increasing the Cu interlayer thickness led to an increase in crystallite size and a decrease in the optical energy band gap. Additionally, doping ZnO with different thicknesses of Cu interlayer enhanced its optical activity and electrical conductivity.

Bilayer number driven changes in polarizability and optical property in ZnO/TiO2 nanocomposite films prepared by ALD

S. S. Fouad et al.

Summary: The optical properties of ZnO/TiO2 bilayer films were studied, revealing a decrease in optical energy gap and direct optical transition with increasing bilayer numbers. A relationship between linear refractive index and optical energy gap was proposed for predicting material properties.

ALD of TiO2/ZnO mutilayers towards the understanding of optical properties and polarizability

S. S. Fouad et al.

Summary: In this study, a comparative analysis of multilayers of TiO2/ZnO thin films grown by atomic layer deposition at 100°C on glass and silicon substrates was conducted. The films were found to be completely amorphous and the band gap energy decreased as the number of layers increased. The relationship between non-linear refractive index and optical energy gap was also explored, revealing a close association with the change in bilayer thickness of the thin TiO2/ZnO films.

Dependence of the electrical properties of Cu-doped ZnO nanoparticles decorated by Ag atoms

Abueliz Modwi et al.

Summary: Silver decorated copper doped zinc oxide nanoparticles (Ag@Cu-ZnO) were successfully prepared via sol gel method. X-ray diffraction and EDS analysis confirmed the existence of Cu and Ag within the ZnO lattice, with an increase in particle size observed with higher Ag loading. Electrical measurements indicated a decrease in dielectric properties and AC conductivity with increasing Ag content, while impedance measurements showed a predominant grain boundary resistance. This study highlighted the significant influence of Ag on the structural and electrical properties of Cu-doped ZnO nanoparticles.
